Theodore Clyde Shepherd "Bear" was born on October 5, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Gladys and Herschel Shepherd. He had one daughter, Shamia Shepherd; three sisters, Pauline, Beatrice, and, Sheryl; three brothers, Herschel Jr, (deceased), Hercules, and Lorenzo.
Bear attended East Cleveland Schools and frequented places like Shaw Lanes. His real education, understanding, and wisdom, came from his associations and interactions. He was unique and crafty with a God-given ability to read people.
Bear had a welcoming presence and his smile lit up the room with a big heart of gold. A lot of material things passed through his hands but what he cherished most was relationships, not money. Once you became his friend it was life long.
Bear was courageous and at the same time very softhearted. If he felt slighted he was quick to fight; when he saw someone in need he was even quicker to dig into his pocket to help. Anyone who knew him knows he was a once in a lifetime character.
Bear was always on the go. He drove his cares fast as if time mattered. His mind always working, searching for that angle we never saw. The essence of anyone is the soul. Bear had his flaws, but at his core he had a beautiful soul.
Theodore is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother, Herschel, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Shamia; sisters, Pauline, Beatrice, and Sheryl; brothers, Hercules and Lorenzo; nieces, nephews, other family, and a lot of friends.
