Rose Wilson Obituary

Rose P. Wilson was born October 17, 1941, to the late Lilliemae Doughty and the late Lorenzo Gorge in Slidell, Louisiana. She later relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where she lived and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Deacon Eligah, and Georgia Robertson. Rose attended the Cleveland Public schools and graduated from John High School. She began working at Ohio Bell today known as AT&T until she retired in 1972. She later began working at one of the Hope Academies until the pandemic began in 2020.

Rose accepted Christ at an early age and later in life joined the Willing Workers MBC under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Benford. During that time, she met and married the late Rev. Dan Pete Wilson on April 6, 1979. They were members of Willing Workers until he was called to Pastor at Christian United B.C. Rose continued to serve the Lord and was quoted as say "I'm just an Old-Fashioned church girl". She defiantly wasn't ashamed of the Gospel, and she loved going to church.

Some of Rose's hobbies were cooking, knitting, sewing and family. Though she had no siblings she adopted three of her aunts' and uncles' children as her sisters. She'd often say, "I got three sisters, Yvonne, Evelyn, and Sandra". Rose had a special and unique bond with one of her granddaughters, Marionna. They shared countless and numerous times together.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dan Pete Wilson; one son, Derrick George; mother, Lilliemae; father, Lorezo; and two grandsons, Curtis, and David Stafford.

She leaves to cherish and honor her memories one son, Daniel George; three grandsons, Glen Stafford, Derek George, Cleveland, Ohio and Daniel Slater Akron, Ohio; five granddaughters, Deanna George, Qualia George, Morgan George, Tanisha Porter, and Consuella Crenshaw, all of Cleveland, Ohio; six great grandsons, and three great granddaughters, and a host of relatives and friends.
