Norma Jean Guerry-Wiley

Norma Jean Guerry-Wiley was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 31, 1939, to the late Moses and Ruby Guerry. She left us to join our heavenly father on November 11, 2021.

Norma Jean was educated in the Cleveland Public School System and earned an associate degree through the Cuyahoga Community College nursing program. She met and, eventually, married her soulmate, Robert Louis Wiley on September 6, 1999.

Norma Jean was many things to many people. She had a real zest for life and a penchant for having a good time, often demonstrating a sharp wit that was quickly followed up with a hearty laugh! Although slight of build, Norma Jean was fully capable of "handling her business" when it was required. As her late brother Alfred was known for saying, "Don't let the smooth taste fool you" because messing with Norma Jean's family would definitely "bring out [her] best" - or her worst! - depending on what side of the ledger you're on. The words spunky, feisty and spitfire could certainly describe Norma Jean in a given situation. She freely spoke her mind, but never with cruel intention. She was a friend who could be counted on in a pinch. Just as much as she could be tenacious, Norma Jean also displayed a much quieter, reserved and gentle side, allowing only those close to her into her circle.

Norma Jean leaves to cherish her loving memory, grandsons: DaiMonta (Deborah), Brandon, and Jordan; a Goddaughter: Paula; great grandsons: DaiMonta Jr. and Akwasiba; great granddaughters: Ganique, Dai Jaligue, Amira, Tailesha and Sarah; great-great grandsons, Kayce and Kylan; sisters, Wannetta and Wanda (Curtis Sr.); brothers: Warren and Nathan (Barbara); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding Norma in death were husband Robert Louis Wiley; son, Adrian; and brothers: Alfred, Albert and Kevin.
