Minnie Owens Obituary

Minnie Lou Owens was born July 4, 1930, in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late Charlie and Lucy Armstrong. She was the second of thirteen siblings.

Minnie Owens was saved at an early age. She married Johnny Owens Sr. in 1947 in Arkansas and moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1953. Minnie had a strong relationship with God and was a member of New Fellowship Church until she was called home.

Playing bingo, fishing, and family time is what made Mrs. Owens smile. She also enjoyed sitting on the porch, waving to everyone who passed by.

Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Owens Sr., her parents; Charlie and Lucy Armstrong, siblings; Derotha McGlown, Charlie Frost Jr., Willie Frost, Jerry Prichard, Bettie Mae Liggins, Eva Lee Perkins, Ineze Danilies, her children; Ruby Redd, Warren Owens, and Charlie Owens, and grandchildren; Warren "Boobie" Culbreath Owens, Jason Wilson and Kalinda Redd.

Cherishing her memory forever are her children, Michael Owens, Douglas Owens, Antwon Owens, Johnny Owens Jr., and Lisa Knight, whom she adopted as a daughter. Her grandchildren, Katrina Johnson, LaShante Culbreath, Jamarra Redd, Shyann Owens, Shayla Owens, and Dwan Larkins will also keep Minnie close to their hearts, forever.
