Michelleine Chavis

Michelleine Chavis was born May 23, 1964, to Edward L. Chavis and Gayle Payne-Williams in Cleveland, Ohio, her mother Gayle proceeded her in death. She is one of three children and the only daughter of Edward and Gayle.

Michelleine departed this life June 30, 2023, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved and came into contact with her. Michelleine accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Cleveland Ohio.
Michelleine attend and graduated from Warrensville Heights High School, class of 1981. Michelleine attended Ursuline College and received her Bachelors in Business Administration and further pursued and obtained her Nursing License (RN) from the Huron School of Nursing in 1999. While obtaining her RN license, she received her Associates of Science from Cuyahoga Community College. Additionally, she was a certified RN Case Manager, CCM. Michelleine loved education and pushed for everyone in her circle of influence to pursue higher education. In 2002, Michelleine was crowned Ms. Ohio and she was honored to be the first African American woman to be crowned as such. She was also an accomplished equestrian rider, showed horses in the Western and English Saddle Class of the NQHA (National Quarter Horse Association) and was also a professional Horse Carriage rider. Michelleine worked for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as a Financial Case Manager and was employed by them at the time of her death.

On April 29, 1995, Michelleine married Herman Arvie and together they raised three children: Barry, Noelle, and Jordaan Arvie. She also raised three bonus children; Seku Shabazz, Madison Brooks, and Monica Franklin whom she loved as her very own.

Michelleine loved to cook and considered it to be a language of love and she also loved to entertain her friends and family and cook for them. Michelleine was a fast driver, loved driving and of course, she loved white cars. The Fourth of July was her favorite holiday because she really enjoyed watching the fireworks. She also loved the ocean and always wanted to be near water. Michelleine liked acting as a hobby and thought seriously about pursuing it.

Michelleine leaves to celebrate her life her children Barry, Noelle and Jordaan, her two grandchildren Saint Crawford, Sayge Crawford, her father Edward L. Chavis, her bonus children Seku Shabazz, Madison Brooks and Monica (Warren, Jr.) Franklin, her brothers Mark (Shari) Chavis and Damien (Dayrnice) Chavis and a whole host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends and family members.
