MARY TINKER, born February 21, 1937, was the sixth child, born to the union of Maggie and Willie Curtis Tinker, in Sawyersville, Alabama.
Quiet by nature, and devoted to her family, MARY adored as "Mae", accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Willow Spring Baptist Church.
MARY traveled to Cleveland, Ohio in 1955, in search of a new life. She worked various day jobs to support her family. Dedicating her life to the service of others, MARY volunteered and was later employed in 1971 with the Diocese of Cleveland. She became Director of the Euclid-University Hunger Center. Through her passion to help others, and her fight against bureaucracy, thousands of families were fed. After 41 years of service, MARY retired.
MARY loved attending quilting classes. She loved to sew, cook, and listen to the blues. She also loved her cookware.
MARY went to her eternal rest, June 23, 2020. Preceding her in death was both parents: Maggie & Willie Tinker, her siblings: Earlene, Willie Pharis, Walter " WB", Marvel "Andrew", Clara Sue, Lucy, daughter Wendy, son Kenneth, and grandson1 Romell.
She leaves to mourn, son, Lonzo (Janice), daughter Melinda, son Mitchell, eight grandchildren: Carlisha, Travis, Christina (Darryl), Jimmy, John, Lonzo Jr., Mitchell Jr., and Shada, 10 great-grandchildren: Leondraus, Da'Sha, Makayla, Ronell, Jacey, Cheyanne, DeJohn, Romyiah, Zoey, and Artist Jr.
