Margarette E Holmes

Margarette Evelyn Holmes (affectionately known as Trig) was born on April 28, 1934, the second of 10 children. Born to Naniva Vaughn & Tennyson B. Holmes in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Margarette accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She attended Tullahoma Public Schools and relocated to Ohio as a young adult where she met and married and remarried. From those unions, four children were born, three of which proceed her in death, Edward Smith (Beedie), Harvey Stone Jr., and Margaret Michelle Smith.

Margarette attended Cuyahoga Community College and graduated with her associate's degree in Applied Sciences. She was an Entrepreneur in two businesses, Smith & Stone Auto Wreckage, and Club 2613 a local bar & Convenience store. She worked in healthcare for many years as well. It was in that field that a patient took notice of her kindness, compassion, & referred her to the Catholic faith so that those qualities could be utilized to the fullest. Once acquainted with the Catholic faith, she became a member of Saint Phillip Neri Parish and representative of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Through Saint Phillip Neri, she was appointed Coordinator of The Joseph House, Home for Refugees.

Margarette was known to be an avid reader of anything educational/self-help related. She was a lover of knowledge. She also loved plants and maintained her own personal garden until she was no longer able. She often found joy in helping others whether it was a relative or a stranger, and she utilized that trait through her many professions.

Margarette was preceded in death by, Tennyson Holmes (Father) Naniva Holmes (Mother), Ronnie (Brother), Richard (Brother), Hazel (Sister), Harvey (Son), Edward (Son), Michelle (Daughter), Crystal (granddaughter).

Margarette leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Barry Smith; siblings, Tennyson Jr, Donna Hamilton, Alice Rowe (Richard), Madge, Grace (Wayne), and Ernest; 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends of who she loved dearly.
