Kevin Edward Payne

Kevin Edward Payne, Sr, 64, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on October 7, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic.

Kevin  was born on August 13, 1957, to James and Margaret (Ayers) Payne in Cleveland, OH.  He attended Wilberforce University & graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1981. During his college years, he became a lifetime member of the Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He remained a dedicated member until his death.

Through the years, Kevin worked as a manager at Goodyear, a District manager at BP and was a successful mortgage broker for some time. Kevin was an exceptionally smart man. One of his favorite pastimes was memorizing trivia. He was also an avid sports fan of all Cleveland teams. People that knew him well would say he encouraged people to be the best version of themselves and assisted friends & family in becoming successful. 

Kevin  is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his stepfather, LA Gordon, his sons, Kevin Payne Jr and Isaiah Ball; his former spouse Vivian Williams, his two grandchildren, Morgan & Kyndall Payne and cousins Jean (Jeff) Jefferson.  He is also survived by former spouse Beverly Love and his stepdaughters, Martina & Dionna Buckner. 

Visitation will be held at Watson Funeral on October 21, 2021. A funeral service will be held at the same location on October 22, 2021, at 2pm. Masks are required at both events. The family requests that all correspondence and/or flowers be sent to Watson Funeral Home at 10913 Superior Avenue, Cleveland Ohio 44106.
