Juanita was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, oil, painting, watching the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians. She enjoyed a good boxing match, especially when Sugar Ray Leonard was fighting, she enjoyed watching movies, listening to jazz, and plenty of Motown tunes.

Juanita ran track when she attended Kennard junior high school and East technical high school.

Juanita leaves to cherish her memory her three children James, Leatha, and Surilda; nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Juanita, Austin, Jeremiah, Anthony, Tyrese, Mario, Tyrina and Tyrone Jr; Great grandchildren Imani, Ari, Donald, Antonecise, James, and Aaliyah.
