Gloria Hammond Obituary

November 10, 1950 was no ordinary Friday you see, God set his plan in motion ensuring that he crafted the women he needed to fulfill his purpose. That day Gloria Ann Stewart made her grand entrance.

Known to all as "Mama", Gloria was the youngest of three, her sister, Geradine Stewart (deceased), and brother, Willie Stewart (deceased) born to Daisy Stewart who preceded her in death.

Gloria received her education from Glenville high school where she was well liked and admired. She attended Mount Olivet Baptist Church and was sure to never miss a service.

Gloria loved to work. Her passion was caring for others that weren't able to care for themselves. She was very family oriented and wanted nothing more but to see all her family together. In 1967, Gloria met and found love with James Jackson Sr, and two years later they joined in holy matrimony. To this union four children were created, Regina Jackson, James Jackson known as "June", Crystal Jackson, and Anthony Jackson.

Unfortunately in 1990, James Jackson was called to the Lord. Gloria's greatest love of all was being around her family and friends. Wherever she was invited she made sure she showed up and showed out . In 1985, Gloria remarried to Williams Hammond (deceased) the two together created wonderful memories and became one big family.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memory four children, Regina, James, Crystal, and Anthony; 27 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; great niece, Ariel Carter,
and a host of family and friends.
