Althea Louise Wall, affectionately known as "Goldpiece" was born November 3, 1931, to the late Willie (Buddy) Savage and Zora Parker in Prattville, Alabama. She professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age. She departed this life on Friday, January 6, 2023.
She graduated from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. She taught elementary school in Prattville until she moved to Cleveland where she was employed by the Cleveland Public School System. She was a devoted member of Greater Avery AME Church for over sixty years.
Althea was married to Wilson "Shorty" Wall who proceeded her in death. Her beloved sister, Thelma Robinson proceeded her in death and granddaughter, Tawwar Wall proceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Beverly Glover and son, Derrick Shawn Wall, grandsons; Brian Keith Wall, Sihjra, LaShawnt, Derronte, Darrean and Daquan Wall. Devoted nieces, Brenda, Andretta, Althea (her namesake), Yvette, and nephews, Lonnie and Maurice (Angelo), niece, Venita and nephew Willie Jr., preceded her in death. She leaves her god-daughter, Danielle Dilworth, loving friend Edna Woods and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
