Willie Baker

November 5, 1950 — August 15, 2025

Willie George Baker, (known to most as just George/"Bam") was the oldest of five siblings, born to Willie Mae and George Baker on November 5, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio. Because George was the oldest and both parents were working, he was often left to the task of taking care of his younger siblings. Following High school George join the army to fight for his country during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty was over, he came home and worked several jobs, including Ohio Bell as a linesman and Crucible Steele, among others.

He later met and married his wife, Louise Williams, who preceded him in death. From this union, two daughters were born, Adrienne and Sheronda. Louise got a job as a nurse in Columbus, so the family relocated. George moved back and forth between Cleveland and Columbus. He later earned an associate's degree in general studies, also obtaining his certification in Brick Masonry. Wille George later had a son, George W. Baker.

Willie George fought PTSD, cancer, and other health issues, in his later years. On August 15, 2025, George answered God's final call. Preceding him in death were his mother, Willie Mae, his father, George W, two brothers, Orlando and Tony Baker. George leaves to mourn him two sisters, Sherlie Baker and Deborah (Perry Ricks), two daughters, Adrienne (Abraham Choba), and Sheronda Baker. One son, George W Baker. Three granddaughters, Madison Baker, Zylia and Kylia Choba. Special Nephews, Keelan, Kowaine (Diana), Joe, Cedric, and Deshawn along with nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of cousins and special loved ones. George loved his family and friends.
