Victoria Eddy Walker

With profound love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Victoria L. Eddy-Walker, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Born on October 5, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, Victoria was the beloved daughter of John Chestnut and Dorothy Eddy. She was the youngest child in a large family and was preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings: Laverne Cratt, Barbara Crawford, Edward Eddy, John Eddy, Warren Eddy, and her sister Dorothy Eddy, who passed away at the age of five. She leaves behind her loving siblings, Crystal Eddy and Gregory Eddy, who will forever cherish her memory.

Victoria attended South High School, where she was known for her intelligence, determination, and remarkable speed on the track field. Even as a young girl, she possessed a bright spirit and a confidence that naturally drew people to her.

She devoted her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. Throughout her career as a Nurse Aide, Caregiver, and Nurse Recruiter, Victoria served with compassion, patience, and love. Helping others was not simply her profession; it was her calling.

A faithful member of The Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church, Victoria loved the Lord and carried her faith into every aspect of her life. Her favorite color was red because it reminded her of the blood of Jesus and the sacrifice that gave her hope and strength. Her faith was evident in the way she loved, served, and encouraged others.

Victoria found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved dancing, listening to gospel and reggae music, playing cards with family, attending sporting events, and trying her luck at the casino. She was also an incredible cook who rarely let anyone leave her home hungry. Whether preparing a family meal, serving the neighborhood sweet potato pies, or caring for loved ones, she gave her whole heart to everything she did.

Gifted with words, Victoria enjoyed writing poetry and expressing her thoughts through writing. She possessed a wisdom and creativity that often surprised people. Her smile could light up a room, her laughter was unforgettable, and her confidence was truly unmatched.

Those who knew Victoria will remember her as a woman who loved deeply and saw the best in everyone. She was competitive, compassionate, sensitive, and endlessly devoted to her family. She was the kind of person who would give her last to help someone else and never ask for anything in return.

To those closest to her, she affectionately embraced the name "Queen Shabubi." It was more than a nickname; it was the fearless, vibrant side of her personality. When Queen Shabubi showed up, so did her larger-than-life confidence, infectious energy, smooth charm, joyful spirit, and unmistakable presence. She carried herself like royalty, making everyone around her smile while reminding us all to live boldly and love wholeheartedly.

Whether she was wearing the crown of Queen Shabubi or simply being Mom, Victoria poured herself into her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her church family, and her friends with unconditional love.

Victoria leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted husband, Paul Walker; her loving children, Victoria Garner, Thomaneca Garner, Dorothy Garner, Thomas Garner, and John-Thomas Garner; seven granddaughters and three grandsons; her loving siblings, Crystal Eddy and Gregory Eddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and dear friends.

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love, wisdom, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to guide us. The lessons she taught, the meals she prepared, the hugs she gave, the poems she wrote, and the lives she touched will remain in our hearts forever.

Victoria often reminded those she loved to "Shine bright like a diamond." Her light shined brightly throughout her life, and that light will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know and love her.
