Terry Frances Passerell née Maple was born on October 31,1951in Quincy, Illinois to John Maple Jr. and Lorena Maple. She was the middle child in between her sister Kathy and her brother Randy.
Terry grew up in a small town in Missouri called Farber with a population of only 358 people. As a child, she suffered from Polio and was in and out of crippled children's homes. She went to Van-Far Schools in Vandalia. She graduated at the age of 17 from Van-Far R1 High School in 1969. In the early 70's Terry came to Cleveland, Ohio on a Greyhound bus. She attended the Cleveland Institute of Dental-Medical Assistants to become a Medical Assistant, graduating in 1978. Terry's ambition was to become a nurse. She attended Jane Addams School of Practical Nursing to become an LPN, achieving that goal by graduating in 1983. Terry attended several churches throughout her life as a Christian. Notable ones were Berea Baptist, Lakewood Seventh Day Adventist, and First Southern Baptist of Sheffield Lake and finally coming back to Lakewood SDA until she was no longer physically able to attend. Terry had 3 children from her first marriage. Angel(1971), Kimmy(1975), and Petie(1976) were her original "crew". On October 1, 1988 she married Raymond Passerell. She gained a bonus daughter Tracy and later gave birth to Harley(1994).
Terry worked as a Medical Assistant for Medical Mutual. As an LPN, she worked for Metro Hospital and then becoming a Charge Nurse at Cleveland Rehab, Eastern Star of Cuyahoga County, and ending her nursing career at Candlewood. She adored mail order catalogs. This was before the invention of Amazon. Terry loved collecting an array of things like Coca Cola keepsakes (even though she drank Pepsi), stuffed animals (especially teddy bears and monkeys), frogs, M&Ms figurines, African safari animals (which her room was decorated in), and Harley Davidson memorabilia, and anything Native American due to being part Cherokee as well as treasures that were Halloween related because that was her birthday. She delighted in dressing up in costume for it. She absolutely loved butterflies! Terry could crochet and sew, making clothes, blankets, and toys for her children and grandchildren (some of them also inherited her passion for crocheting). Once she retired,
she would spend her time crafting bracelets and dreamcatchers. Our Butterfly flew away to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
Terry was preceded in death by her mother Lorena Maple, her father John Maple Jr. and her sister Katherine Shores.
