Terry Lynn Gibson was born on June 18, 1957 in Starkville, Mississippi to the late Preston Gibson Jr and Fannie Dell Gibson. He was the second of six children.
Terry grew up on Emily Street in East Cleveland, Ohio where he met the love of his life, Cassandra Lee Mayo. They had three children together, Antoinio Lynn Mayo, Antoinette Marie Gibson, and Ashawntia Maria Gibson.
Terry lived life to the fullest. He was a true Cleveland sports fan through and through. He loved helping people, enjoying good times with his family, and making everyone around him laugh. His kindness left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Terry found the Lord at an early age and Over the next four decades, he worked for Spitzers Ford, Micky's Rust Proofing and Jaguar Cleveland until he got sick on the job. Terry's life then took an unexpected turn when he lost his soulmate Cassandra Lee Mayo. The bond they shared was rare and deep. We often felt his heart was broken beyond repair, and though he stayed with us quite a while longer part of him left with her.
Through all the years of health struggles, and medical conditions he never complained, and never gave up. He showed us what true strength look like right up until the very end.
"On July 8th, 2025, the Lord opened the gates of Heaven and called Terry home. The skies parted, and he was finally at peace in the presence of the Lord. T- Dawg, aka T-Dewey, Mac da Bear, JYD or Junkyard Dog, will be forever missed.
Terry was proceeded in death by his parents Fannie Dell Gibson, Preston Gibson Jr, his brother Gary Wade Gibson, and his soulmate Cassandra Lee Mayo.
Terry leaves to cherish his memories to his three children; Antoinio Lynn Mayo, Antoinette Marie Gibson and Ashawntia Maria Gibson, his Baby Brother Eric (Ramona) Gibson and his three sisters, Michelle (Darrell) Rush, Debra (Steven) Parker and Barbara (Gregory deceased) Thomas, his grandchildren Brooklyn Blue, Harmonii Blue, Antoinio Mayo Jr, Tonii Mayo, Kayla Mayo, JaShae Rader, and Jalen Hinds. His great grandchildren, Tristian, Tommie Lei, Jermaine Jr, Mateo, Kelend Jr, Alani Reign and Kemiah. A host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
