RUTH MOON Dec. 20, 1919 - Feb. 20, 2013. Born and raised in Kokomo, IN, Ruth married William Moon, moved to Cleveland, OH and raised 4 children. She received her bachelor and master's degrees in education from Cleveland State University. She was an educator in the Cleveland Public School System for two decades. An active member of Werner United Methodist Church for 56 years, she served as Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday Schools, President of United Methodist Women, founding chair of the Werner Scholarship Committee and leader of the Children's Sunday Sermons. Ruth served on the Boards of the YWCA and Karamu House. Upon retiring, she pursued writing children's faith-inspired stories including her first book of short stories titled "Truth by Ruth". In 2006, she and her husband of 66 years moved to Westbury, New York residing with their daughters until her passing. Memorial service is Sat. April 13, 2013 11am at Celebration United Methodist Church 771 East 260th Street, Euclid, OHio. Interment in Lake View Cemetery.
