Revell L. Williams was born on January 21, 1968, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Flint Shelton and Sarah Williams (both of whom preceded him in death). Best known as "Vell," he was the baby boy of Sarah's ten children.
As a Cleveland native, Revell attended the Cleveland Metropolitan School system. He was baptized at an early age, knowing how to worship and give thanks. He had a heart of gold, as sharing and giving were second nature.
As a young child, playing outside, hanging out with nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and trying to drive cars like "The Bat Mobile" were some of his favorite pastimes. Singing, rapping, and dancing at Christmas to "Christmas Rappin'" by Kurtis Blow and "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang were also favorite family activities.
As an adult, Revell loved cats, coffee, candy, cooking Ma's dressing every other week, shopping, traveling, and driving his cars. Most of his cars were white Mercedes-Benz vehicles, always clean and shiny. Some thought he liked playing "bumper cars" because he was in many car accidents, though they were never his fault. Revell's style and décor were very reflective of his magical imagination and creativity. He lived the way he wanted to-happy and free. Whitney Houston was his favorite musical artist, and Michael Jackson was his favorite during his pre-Thriller days. He never missed a beat while working at a variety of prestigious companies throughout the city of Cleveland. Although he had no children of his own, he was active in providing guidance and support to many.
Most of all, he loved his family; he would attend most family gatherings and always be certain to pack a plate or two for a later meal or to share with whomever needed it. He arrived with a smile and laughter. Every encounter with Revell was joyful. It did not matter what the conversation was about-Revell laughed. Laughter brings peace to the soul, and Revell would laugh a lot. He departed this earthly life on July 22, 2024, to begin his eternal one.
His beloved mother Sarah, his loving father Flint Shelton, brothers Anthony Williams Sr., Marvin Williams, and Flint Williams Sr., and sister Medrener Calloway all preceded Revell in death.
So many memories of Revell will be cherished by brothers Angelo (Agnes), Carzell Sr. (Theresa), Raymond (Angela, who preceded him in death), and Shaquill; sisters Therasa (Enice Sr.) and Debbie Williams; and cousin/sister Patricia Brown. Uncles, aunties, a host of nephews, nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends will also cherish his memory.
