Randolph M. Townsend

Randolph Townsend was born on July 24, 1959, in Leonardtown, Maryland. He was the first-born child of Sophia Marie Townsend, a native of Maryland. Randy was the eldest of four children-one sister, Justina Townsend, and two brothers, Kenneth and Chris Townsend. He, along with his mother, Sophia; his sister, Justina; and his father, Kenneth Townsend, later relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where the family made their home.

Randy was a loving spirit whose smile could light up a room and whose contagious laugh could instantly lift the spirits of those around him. He took great pride in being a dad to Riarre Murphy and a grandfather to his nine beautiful grandchildren. He was also a devoted fiancé to Lisa Groves, with whom he built a life filled with love and companionship.

Randy was strong and disciplined, qualities that were further strengthened through his military service. He carried that strength throughout his life and demonstrated it until his very last breath, when he transitioned peacefully, surrounded by the love of his fiancée, family, and friends.

Randy leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Sophia Townsend; one sister, Justina Townsend; two brothers, Chris Townsend (Celena) and Kenneth Townsend (Sonia); one son, Riarre Murphy; nine grandchildren, Elijah Murphy, Izaha Murphy, Rashawna Murphy, Ji'arre Murphy, Margaret Murphy, Robert Murphy, Riviarre Murphy, Callie Murphy, and Riarre Murphy Jr.; his fiancée, Lisa Groves; and a host of family and friends.
