Loretta Williams was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 24, 1958, to the union of the late Lafayette and Mary Williams. She grew up and was raised along with her two sisters. She attended Cleveland Public Schools. After graduating from high school, she continued her education and graduated from Cuyahoga Community College, earning a degree in business management. Loretta was a dedicated employee and worked as a receptionist/secretary at an intellectual patent law firm, at the time known as Fay, Sharpe et al. She worked there until she became ill.
Loretta enjoyed spending time with her mother and sisters, especially during the weekends. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and watching cooking channels on television and online. She was known for and enjoyed making scrumptious deviled eggs. She also enjoyed practicing Chinese martial arts, including Kung Fu and Tai Chi.
In April of 2010, Loretta made the decision to join Balm In Gilead MBC, where she was a faithful and active member. She accepted the responsibility of becoming church secretary and participated in other church activities when needed.
Loretta leaves to mourn and treasure her memory one nephew, Bryan A. Lockett; a great-nephew and great-niece, Bryan Lockett, Jr. and Amariah Lockett; two aunts, Hattie M. Johnson and Gertrude Hite; one uncle, Robert Lee Hayes; and a host of cousins, many friends, and acquaintances. Loretta peacefully departed this life on Saturday, August 29, 2026
She was preceded in death by both her parents and two sisters.
