Lindsey Stewart was born on September 6, 1951, in Robinsonville, Mississippi, to the late Albert and Mary Lane. He was the youngest of eight children born to this union. Lindsey attended Delta High School in Walls, Mississippi. Later, the family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where Lindsey made his home.
He was employed at The Illuminating Company, JL Steel, and Master Metals, where he worked alongside his father.
Lindsey was preceded in death by six siblings: Mattie Clark, George Stewart, Connie Morgan, Tommie White, and Ethel Hubrins. He is survived by two sisters, the family matriarch Hattie Morgan and Delores Parker, both of Cleveland, Ohio.
Lindsey loved his family deeply and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He made a point to keep in touch with everyone, always offering help whenever it was needed. Known as a true "jack of all trades," Lindsey approached every task with skill and dedication.
He will be remembered for his loving personality, his generosity, and the special bond he shared with his nephews.
Lindsey leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Jamilliah Barber (Steven) and Rasheemah Barber; five grandchildren, Rayshaun Barber (Jasmine Burke), Brandon Johnson (Nicole Abrea), LeSaundra Johnson, Henry Shepard, and Jaylah Bowie; and two bonus granddaughters, Mahoganie Spikes and Destiney Shepard. He was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Brook'Lynn Johnson, Ermias Barber, Lon'dyn Johnson, and Mi'Lan Johnson, along with six bonus great-grandchildren, Coreal, Erin, Rondale, Kee'Shawn, Mahlaesia, and Mahlea. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
