Lavelle "CHOP" Coleman

Lavelle Coleman, affectionately known as "CHOP," was born on September 26, 1977, to Alfred Coleman Jr. and Millie Harris. He was raised with the love and guidance along with his brothers, George Harris, and Alfred Coleman III; and sisters, Melissa Coleman, Joann Coleman-Long, Michelle Harrris and Sharon Turner.

Lavelle received his education in the Cleveland school system and attended Glenville High School. With the spirit of an entrepreneur, he opened a car wash and a tire shop, and later established a smoke shop. He was known for his ambition, independence, and dedication to hard work.

"CHOP" was known and loved by many. His vibrant personality and big heart touched lives far beyond his local community, earning him the affection of thousands nationwide. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Lavelle shared a special bond with his siblings, Michelle Harris, George Harris, Melissa Coleman, Joann Coleman Long, and Sharon Turner.

Lavelle departed this life on June 8, 2026. A life marked by determination, independence, and perseverance, he leaves behind memories that will be cherished by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Coleman Jr; and grandparents, Thelma Harris, Alfred Coleman, and Jennie Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Millie Harris; his siblings, Michelle Harris, George Harris, Melissa Coleman, Joann Coleman Long, and Sharon Turner; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and great friends.
