Kittye Farris Williams was born on February 25, 1937, in Garrison, West Virginia, to the union of Walter and Carrie Spencer. She peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
She was united in marriage to the late Norman Williams, Sr. From this union came three beloved sons: Walter (deceased) (Jeanette), Norman Jr. (Angelia), and Gregory.
Kittye attended Carver High School in West Virginia, where she graduated as Valedictorian. She later moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked for many years as a manager at Burger King, hiring and mentoring numerous family members and friends.
A woman of deep faith, Kittye was an active member of The Historic Greater Friendship Baptist Church and, in later years, a devoted member of CityView of Cleveland, Ohio. Upon her retirement from Burger King, she remained active in the community through her involvement with St. Martin De Porres Silver Threads Senior Group.
Kittye enjoyed playing cards-especially spades and bid whist-dancing, and bowling. Her joyful spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Carrie Spencer; her husband, Norman Williams, Sr.; her son, Walter; sisters Ethel Barros (Manuel), Ida Helen Barker (James), Christine Mary Spencer (Allen), Bertie Lee Midcalf (Cozy), and Mildred Ledwell (Robert); brothers Walter Amos Spencer, Nathan W. Spencer (Violet), James E. Spencer, and Harry D. Spencer. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Norman Jr. (Angelia) and Gregory; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
