Jensy L. Whitt Jones-Beal was born on February 27, 1938, in Beloit, Alabama. She was born to Essie Mae Whitt and raised by her grandparents, Nathaniel and Luvenia Whitt. Four siblings preceded her in death.
She attended Dallas County Training School in Beloit, Alabama, where she began her interest in nursing.
Jensy's faith and trust in God were strong and unwavering. She accepted Christ at an early age in Beloit, Alabama, at Hopewell Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Carl Raw. Upon later returning to Alabama, she united with The Friendship Brown Baptist Church, where Rev. Horton served as pastor. There, she taught Sunday School, attended weekly home Bible study, and fellowshipped as often as she could.
Upon moving to Cleveland, she united with The Starlight Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Deaconess Board and a Youth Supervisor with the Youth Choir.
While in Cleveland, she met and married James Jones Jr. (deceased), and to that union, five children were born: Anthony, Alvin, Michelle, Kimberle, and Eric. She later married Roosevelt Beale, who preceded her in death, and to that union, six children were blended into their family.
She retired from The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she was employed as a Nursing Assistant and a Medical Assistant in the Bone Marrow Department.
Jensy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, family, fishing, and her church. She loved cooking and could make the best sweet potato pies and homemade rolls you ever tasted. One of her favorite places to be was at church.
Jensy leaves to cherish her memories her sons: Anthony, Alvin (Charlene), and Eric (Zanetta); daughters: Michelle and Kimberle; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nine nephews and nieces; a dear friend, Josephine Tate; goddaughters, Angela Harris and Nakia Grey-Baker; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
