Jacqueline Scott-Hawkins

April 6, 1964 — July 4, 2025

Jacqueline Scott Hawkins was born on April 6, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the third oldest of seven children born to the late Mary Scott and her stepfather Roy Westfield.

Jacqueline, affectionately known as "Jackie," grew up on the west side of Cleveland and attended East High School until she left to give birth to her first child. She was a devoted mother and fiancée, having spent many years alongside her loving partner, Larry Anderson, with whom she shared a deep and faithful bond. Jackie was the proud mother of eight children: Ronisha Haynes (Christopher Haynes), Ronald Hawkins, Taboo Gary, Chris Scott, Jeremie Scott, Candance Scott, Javier Scott, and Azareyia Hall. She lived her life with faith, grace, and strength of character.

Jackie was best known for her giving heart and her unmatched cooking skills. She was the go-to chef for every party, event, and family gathering. She cooked for the community with love-volunteering at homeless shelters and giving her time and energy to anyone in need. Jackie was a regular helping hand at the St. Malachi Center alongside Larry, where she cooked, cleaned, and served with joy. Her presence and her food brought comfort and connection to many, especially during Super Bowl parties and Soup for the Soul events.

Jackie loved working on large puzzles, doing crossword books, and diving into anything educational she could learn from. She had a deep love for music-especially Southern soul, trail ride music, and all genres of R&B. Her favorite colors were brown, beige, and white-warm, earthy tones that reflected her spirit: calming, grounded, and full of grace. She had an eye for beauty and always kept her home clean, cozy, and filled with love.

Her home was the heart of the family-"Grandma's house"-where her grandchildren, and even children who weren't biologically hers, would pile up in the living room during the summers. Everyone felt safe, full, and deeply loved there. Jackie gave her all, even when she had little, and poured love into everyone around her. She was the one people called when they didn't know who else to turn to-the one who'd listen without judgment, help without hesitation, and love without condition. She was everyone's go-to person, and her wisdom, strength, and loyalty were unmatched.

All she ever wanted was to give love and receive it in return-and she did, fully and fearlessly. Jackie departed this life on July 4, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Scott, her stepfather Roy Westfield, her brothers Herman Scott (Buddha) and Roy Scott (Oman), her beloved niece Sharain, and other loved ones who went before her.

Jacqueline leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and unwavering love. She is survived by her fiancé Larry Anderson; her eight children: Ronisha Haynes(Christopher Haynes), Ronald Hawkins, Taboo Gary, Chris Scott, Jeremie Scott, Candance Scott, Javier Scott, and Azareyia Hall; and her twelve grandchildren: Larry, Rakyi, Neyarii, Ray-Yon, Christopher, Cadence, Joli, Cailynn, Ryan, Christian, Emanuel, and Carliegh-each of whom adored her and will carry her love with them forever. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Zacarias (Peachie) , Elizabeth (Lizzy) Scott, Raymond Scott, Gerald Scott, and others; her nieces, nephews, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, and a host of extended family and friends who will always remember her vibrant spirit and giving soul.

Jackie was truly the life of the party. Her energy, laughter, and light could shift the whole room. Whether it was her jokes, her cooking, her dancing, or her raw honesty, you always felt her presence-and you felt better because of it. Her absence is already felt in every corner of our lives, and she will be missed beyond words. But her spirit, her love, and her joy will live on forever through all of us.
