She was a member of Mt. Olivet Church of God in Christ, and she later found comfort worshipping at home guided by her close relationship with God.
In May of 1964, Geraldine married the love of her life, Oliver James Morris, after meeting him while working at Pioneer Laundry. Together, they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, commitment. Their union was blessed with four children Tina, Tony, Chris, and Jackie and together they built a strong family. Over the years, they made homes in both Cleveland, Ohio, and Grand Rapids, Michigan, before settling once again in her hometown Cleveland.
Throughout her life, Geraldine worked hard and lived with purpose. She dedicated herself to caring for others, helping family, friends, and neighbors create better lives for themselves. Her generosity was unmatched, and her warmth could fill any room. Geraldine deeply loved the people who loved her and found joy in making people feel joy and making meals that warmed your heart and soul.
Geraldine departed this life peacefully on October 23, 2025, in the home she built with her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Jerlean Reid; her sisters Delores and Sylvia; her brothers Robert, James, and her beloved grandson Deyvon.
