Everett Telfair, Jr., affectionately known as Ricky, was born on September 27, 1959, to the late Daisy and Everett Telfair, Sr. He passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on April 10, 2025, following a prolonged illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Ricky was raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where he attended the local public schools and graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1979. He later continued his education at Central State University, a historically Black college.
For several years, Ricky worked at Shaker Country Club before relocating to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to be closer to his sister. There, he served the City of Colorado Springs in the transportation department. After the passing of his mother, Ricky returned to Cleveland, where he treasured spending time with his nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Gifted with a remarkable talent for storytelling, Ricky often entertained his family with lively recollections of his youth. His warm and engaging spirit endeared him to all who knew him.
Ricky was preceded in death by two brothers, Antoine Hulittle and John Golphin.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Charlotte Lynette Telfair and Patricia Patrice Hulittle; three brothers, Michael Hector, Kenneth "Kenny" Veal, and Lilton "Junnie" Poindexter; two nieces, Shawuan Telfair and Lorenda Johnson; four great-nephews, Da'Jahn Kei'Shjuan, Rynell, Marquise, and Derrick; three great-nieces, Alicia, RaMyah Malia, and Darie; along with many cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
