Ethel Blair was one of three children born to the late Robert and Annie Mary Irving. She was born on October 7, 1938, in Hollendale, Mississippi. Ethel attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John Hay High School. Ethel was joined in Holy Matrimony to Aubrey Blair October 21, 1960. They were blessed with one daughter, Anissia Blair. Ethel believed in Christ being the head of her life. She attended Bedford Church of Nazarene until her health began to deteriorate. She was employed at Huntington Bank and retired after 29 years of service. Ethel loved her daughter, they had a special bond. She also loved volunteering. She was a volunteer for Cleveland Clinic for ten years. Her best friend of fifty plus years Gwendolyn Jordan, who was Anissia's godmother preceded her in death. Ethel was called to "Glory" from South Point Hospital in Cleveland on April 12, 2020.Ethel leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter: Anissia Blair, brother: John (Mary) Irving Sr. of Georgia, sisters: Dorothy Stone of Arizona, Thelma Blackmon, nephews: John Irving Jr. of Georgia, Timothy (Kimberly) Blackmon, nieces: Erika (Sammy) Washington of Texas, Lynette Blackmon, and godfather to Anissia, James Jordan Sr., and host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
