Edna Pearl Wallace

Edna Pearl Wallace was born March 5, 1932, in Harpersville, Alabama. She was the second oldest of 8 children, born to Norman Louis Smith Sr and Pearlie Mae Wallace Smith. Edna peacefully transitioned at home, the morning of January 5, 2021.

Edna graduated from Shelby County Training School (Alabama). She accepted Christ at an young age. In the early 1950’s, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she met and united in Holy Matrimony with William Lee Wallace. After 30 years, she retired from Dalton of America, as a Union Steward and later worked as a nurse assistant. She was a dedicated member of Red Hatters Society and a faithful member of Christ Baptist Church pastored by Reverend Christopher Hinton, until her health declined.

She was a fashionable woman who enjoyed traveling, crafting (crocheting), being with family, playing cards, laughing, and dancing to some good music. In her senior years, she enjoyed watching Golden Girls, Family Feud, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and My 600-lb Life.

She was proceeded in death by her husband William Lee Wallace Sr; her son, Robert Anthony Wallace; her parents Norman and Pearlie Smith; her siblings Norman Louis Smith Jr, Calvester Timothy Smith, Ruby Smith Wright, Evelyn Smith Wallace, and Nola Bush Oden.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory, 4 children, Gregory Clark (Mary) Harris of Cleveland, Ohio; Monica Reed of East Cleveland, Ohio; Debora Ann (Nathaniel) Mosely of Indianapolis, Indiana, and William Lee Wallace Jr of Cleveland, Ohio.

Her surviving 3 siblings, Dorothy (Bob) Welch of Detroit, Michigan; Henry Dean (Catherine) Smith of Childersburg, Alabama, and Linda Faye (Kenneth) Harvey of Detroit, Michigan. Edna had 3 special sisters: Ruth McClellan of Chicago, Illinois; Dianne Jesse of Birmingham, Alabama, and Gloria (Bo) Avery of Detroit, Michigan.

She also has 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
