Dwayne Burton

August 8, 1961 - August 3, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dwayne Burton, who departed this life on August 3, 2025, just five days shy of his 64th birthday. Born on August 8, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, Dwayne was a beloved father, brother, and friend. His vibrant spirit, unwavering strength, and kind heart touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

A true genius in his craft, Dwayne was known for his unmatched skill and expertise. Whether working with his hands, solving complex problems, or creating something from nothing, he did so with precision and passion. His work was more than a profession-it was his art, and his craftsmanship left a legacy that will continue to inspire.

Dwayne graduated from East High School and became a father in June of 1979. With such great responsibilities, he chose to further his education by studying electrical engineering. Over the years, he held many jobs in the field, but soon realized his free-spirited nature would only allow him to work for himself. He went on to establish his own handyman business, earning respect for his dedication and reliability. Whether a small side job for a friend or a major project for a company, Dwayne always got the job done. He also contributed to the family businesses and, later in life, devoted his time to caregiving for his parents when they became ill.

Known for his generosity and infectious sense of humor, Dwayne brought joy to those around him and always found ways to make others smile, even in the hardest of times. He was a devoted father, a talented handyman, and a loyal friend who cherished the relationships he built throughout his life.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Dwayne Jr. (Stacy) and Justin; five grandchildren, Daysha, DiAsia, Dwayne III, Amir, and Khairo; and two brothers, Johnnie Sr. and Kevin. In addition, he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Burton and Sarah Burton; his sisters, Ethel Burton and Christine Story (Carlton); and his brothers, Robert B. Burton and Marion Burton.

In his free time, Dwayne loved racing dirt bikes with The Family Beverage Racing Team, where he also served as the team's mechanic. His love for racing was something he shared with those closest to him, and he was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel heard and understood-often with a Miller in hand-a quality that will be remembered forever by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Dwayne's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who loved him most. His impact was immeasurable, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
