Dorothy Jean Robbins, age 87, of Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on June 22, 2026, at University Hospitals.

Dorothy was born to the union of Elder Ellie Davis Sr, and Sallie Davis on April 23, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was raised in a loving family alongside her siblings: Frank, Bertha, Annie Mae, Ollie Bea, Ellie Jr., Virginia, and Arthur. She received her education at Wenonah Elementary and High School. Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church of Birmingham, Alabama and carried her faith throughout her life. On September 15, 1957, Dorothy married the love of her life, Willie Robbins, in Birmingham, Alabama. To their union they were blessed with three daughters: Cynthia, Linda, and Glinda.

She and her family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1965, where she became a member of Mt. Gillion Baptist Church under the late Reverend Freddie l. Brown and continued to serve under Pastor Nathan Nance. She was known for her kind, compassionate spirit and her willingness to help anyone in need! She didn’t mind sharing anything with her family and friends. Whether it was sharing a meal, offering encouragement, or giving what she had to someone less fortunate. Dorothy found joy in caring for others. Her generosity, warmth, and selfless love touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten by the lives she touched.

Dorothy continued to dedicate her service as an Environmental Specialist at University Hospitals Main Campus, where she served faithfully for 29 years before retiring. Her strong work ethic, commitment, and pride in her work earned the respect of her supervisors, colleagues and those she served.

Willie Robbins preceded her in his death on March 1999. Dorothy now leaves to carry on her legacy and cherish her precious memories: Her sister Virginia Meadows, her three daughters: Cynthia (Alton Sr.), Linda (Joe’l), and Glinda (Steve); her beloved grandchildren: Alton Jr., Toleathea, Canadia, Kendra (William), James Jr. (Jade), and Latrice; and her treasured great-grandchildren: Altese, T'Shawn, I'Janae, Shyona, Alteaire, Patience, Denver, Acadia, Lailan, and Justice; and two great-great grandchildren, Carter and Jamari. She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and all blessed to know and love her.

Dorothy's life was a beautiful example of faith, love, generosity, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
