Dorette Cole
April 19, 1965 - February 27, 2026
Dorette Cole was born on April 19, 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Doris Cole. She was raised in a large and loving family alongside her siblings: Dennis, Tommy, Darlene, Gloria, Ester, Lorette, Wanda, and Brenda.
Dorette attended the Cleveland Public School System during her formative years. She later became a devoted mother to her two children, Tierra Cole and Nigel Cole-West. In the early 2000s, Dorette moved to Wooster, Ohio, where she found employment, happiness, friendship, and a sense of self-peace. She returned to Cleveland and attended The COGIC Church under Pastor Kenneth Lockhart., where she continued to grow in her faith and share her love for God with others. She was eventually invited to Sandusky, Ohio, where her son Nigel lived. Dorette found a deep sense of peace in Sandusky unlike anywhere else she had lived.
Throughout her adult life, Dorette held several jobs, but the position she cherished most was working at a hotel, where she built lasting friendships and made a meaningful impact on those around her. She had a vibrant personality and found joy in simple pleasures-walking wherever she needed to go, watching her favorite movies, and spending time with children, whom she adored. Known for her keen sense of style, she took pride in her appearance and encouraged others to do the same. Dorette loved music, especially 93.1 WZAK, and was determined to listen no matter where she lived. She found peace living in Wooster, Ohio, and later in Sandusky, Ohio, where she became affectionately known as "Ms. D." She passed away on February 27, 2026.
Preceded in death by one sister, Darlene. Dorette leaves cherished memories with her two children, Tierra Cole, and Nigel Cole-West; two grandchildren, Miranda and Savannah; two brothers, Dennis Cole and Tommy Cole; five sisters, Gloria, Ester, Lorette, Wanda, and Brenda; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
