Listen to Obituary

Deborah Saleem was born as Deborha K Withers on February third 1964 to the union of Walter and Ida Mae Withers and she was the 4th of five children. Throughout her life she liked to sing and dance and always had a desire to learn how to play piano.

Deborah graduated from Glenville High School in 1982. Later she enrolled in Cuyahoga Community College and Graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing in 1992. After graduating Deborah served faithfully as a nurse at ST. Luke's hospital, Cleveland Clinic and the V.A Hospital until her health declined in November 2025. Deborah took pride in her work and always gave the highest level of care to her patients. She believed that everyone deserved someone to help and care for them and treat them with respect no matter their situation.

Deborah was a loving caring mother to four children. She always made sure they had everything they needed and were well taken care of. She would do anything she could to help and protect them because they meant the world to her. Deborah accepted Islam in 1999 under the guidance and leadership of Minister Tariq Hamzah. It was at Muhammad's Temple of Islam that she met Rashad Saleem and they married in 2006.

Deborah was a loving and caring person. She was very passionate about her family and spending time with them was what made her happiest. Deborah always loved to joke and laugh and watch movies. She also loved to travel with her family to many different places and was recently blessed to take a trip to Jamaica with her dear Sister in-law Nisa Saleem. She was loved by so many for her caring spirit and generosity.

Deborah leaves her memories to be cherished by her husband Rashad. Children: Shannon, Alexis, Ayasha and Rashad Ibn. Grandchildren: Farrah, Shon, and Zomari.
