In 1943, she and her husband moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Soon after, she and her husband joined Liberty Hill Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Marion F. Washington.

She was employed by University Hospitals of Cleveland, where she received her training and certificate for Nursing Assistants. She was a dedicated and caring employee for her patients. She retired after 26 years of service from the Intensive Care Unit.
