Charles Edward Sharp was born January 30, 1944 in Knoxville, TN to the late Charles V. and Mary Johnson Sharp. He was the only boy of four children. His twin (Charlotte) preceded him in death. The family migrated to Cleveland in his early years. Charles attended Ramah Christian Academy, Cleveland Public Schools, and later Oakwood University.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age at Glenville Seven Day Adventist. He later joined Second Mt. Olive where he was servant leader of the culinary committee. In 2021, he joined Calvary Hill Missionary Baptist Church in which he was a member of the security team and sang in the male chorus. He also sang with the Leon Lawrence Memorial Choir, and the Cuyahoga County Christmas Choir.
Charles' early occupation was a police officer in Bridgeport, CT until he returned to Cleveland where he worked various jobs. In 2002, he retired from Cuyahoga County Department of Human Services. After retiring from the county, he was employed at various funeral homes around the city and was a driver for American Limousines.
At the county, he met the love of his life Cynthia Renee Campbell and they were later united in Holy Matrimony on September 25, 1993. Charles was an advent comedian and played various jokes on his family and friends. He loved to laugh, travel, entertain, fish, and admired vintage cars.
On December 28, 2025, Charles went home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Cynthia Sharp. Children: Janet Lelia Alexander, Clarissa Sharp Edwards (Diangelo), Charles Sharp III (Tamika), Antonio Campbell (Aisha), and Dante Campbell. 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host family and friends.
