Beverly Ann Johnson

Beverly Ann Johnson was born on September 24, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late parents, Carl E. Johnson and Barbra Johnson (a.k.a. Bobbie). Her family roots reign from Texas, with a Native American and African American heritage. Beverly grew up with her 3 brothers and after losing their mother at a very young age, she played the dual role of sister and mother and played it very well.

She graduated in 1977 from East High and worked in several industries including production, hospitality, and retail. She also specialized in sewing and textile work for the Army. Beverly was a master seamstress, she started sewing at the age of 12. Her talent succeeded in contributing to many people's special days including proms, weddings, parties and praise dancers.

Beverly was known for always having encouraging and kind words to family, friends and passing strangers. She spoke LIFE over people. Anyone that met her was going to hear about Jesus and walk away knowing that they were special. She was always bearing gifts and passing them out at functions and at her church, where she was addressed as, "Mother Beverly." She would help struggling people with groceries and single mothers with supplies for their homes.

If you liked something, she would give it to you, that simple. She loved to cook, shop, decorate, listen to music, and spend time with her grandchildren. She secretly had a beautiful singing voice that she rarely showcased. She loved fashion and was a natural beauty that beamed from her smile and laugh.

Mother Beverly was a prophetic and anointed prayer warrior, praying for many on the altar at her church and neighborhood. Even after losing her ability to walk, she would ride her scooter to certain nursing home residents to pray for them. She will always be known as an optimistic enthusiast that fought a good fight and never gave up, until God took her home. She lived an unselfish life and sacrificed many things for others, even if she barely knew them. She will be heavily missed by her family, friends, community and all of those who encountered her.

There will never be another Beverly Ann Johnson like the one we knew.

She was survived by her 4 sons, Marcellus (Tawana) Wills, Darion (Rachel) Johnson, Larry Ja'ron (Jessica) Johnson and Bobby Johnson; her grandchildren Marcellus, Angelia, Julianna, Don Ja'raun, Jaiden, Darion, Dareon, Ribbon, Gregory, Ricardo and TreVion; her 3 brothers Steve, Michael and Carl. Lastly, a huge family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
