Anthony Forbes

Anthony Craig Forbes was born on April 20, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, the beloved son of Cleoford "Zeke" Forbes and Mary Johnson Forbes. He passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025.

Anthony was educated in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and graduated from Glenville High School in 1976, carrying with him the lifelong friendships and Tarblooder pride that shaped his early years. He went on to attend Central State University, where he continued his love of learning and built on the values of perseverance, commitment, and excellence.

Anthony dedicated his career to serving as an inspector for the City of Cleveland, and through his legacy and the memories of his encounters, we strive to honor a life of love and service that continues to bring comfort and peace to all who knew and cherished him.

He is remembered by his uncle, George L. Forbes, Esq., his aunt, Mary Forbes, and a devoted family including his niece Jessica Forbes Brown; nephews Quentin Forbes, Wesley Shelton, and David W. Hubbard and a host of cousins who cherished his presence and the joy he brought into their lives.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Cleoford "Zeke" Forbes; mother, Mary A. Forbes; brothers, Clifford Forbes and Alfred Forbes; and sisters, Alfredia Forbes Hubbard and Eleanor Forbes Shelton.

A graveside service will be held at LakeView Cemetery on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate his life.
