Marion H. Carter

Marion (Elliott) Carter, age 84 of East Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He was born in Hopkinsville Kentucky on May 24, 1939, to Rollie Carter Sr, and Pearline Davis Carter. He was the youngest of 7 children.

Marion might have been his name, but most knew him by Elliott or Carter. He retired from the city of East Cleveland after over 30 years. He was a God loving man who accepted Christ at young age. Marion was also charismatic, charming, and full of life.

Marion proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 20 years, Claudette Collins Carter. Together Marion and Claudette shared one child Tonya Ann, and two stepsons David Craig (Pam) and Darrell Craig (Shemekia). Marion also has 4 sons, Elliott Carter (Dawn), Cornell Carter (Lisa), Donnell Carter (Taresha), and Chauncey Thompson, who passed away at age 36. Marion proceeded in death after his brothers RV Carter, Rollie Carter and his three sisters Nora Lee Forest, Claudia Mae Cates, Dorothy Christine Reed. Marion is survived by one sister Maudrine Quarles. Marion is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who loved him.
