Joan D. Anderson was born on March 30th, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to William and Louberda Martin. She was the eldest of four children born to William and Louberda.
Joan attended the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Joan met and married Howard Anderson, and to that union, six children were born.
In the early 1950s, she became a surgical nurse at the Cleveland Clinic. After retirement, she became a travel agent and traveled all over the world. She was a great swimmer, golfer, and belonged to a bowling team.
Joan accepted Christ and was a member of Mt. Zion, a non-denominational church in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
Joan was a very stylish woman who loved fashion and home decor. Everything about her was unique.
Joan enjoyed entertainment and loved people. She managed a singing group called "Odyssey and Company," in which her son Howard Anderson Jr. was a part. The group was able to travel and perform throughout many cities under Joan's management.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, and her son Vernon.
Joan leaves to cherish her loving memories her children: Sammy, Alice (Jimmie), Brenda (Winston), Charlene, Howard; grandchildren: Aisha, Nicole (Rodney), Ashera, Cecil, Howard III, Christopher, Ashley (Melvin); 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
