Aaisha M. Hakim was born Pauline Fowler on June 24, 1929, to Ernest and Mattie Fowler in Youngstown, Ohio.Aaisha embraced Islam in 1955 at Muhammad Temple NOH9.
In 1959, Aaisha and her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and she was a pioneer in bringing Islam to Cleveland. Under the leadership of Elijah Muhammad, her family name was changed to Hakim
For over 60 years, Aaisha M. Hakim remained true to her belief in Islam and the Muslim way of life.
Aaisha went back to school at the age of 68 and got her GED. She worked as a seamstress for over 50 years.
Aaisha loved Allah, her family, baking, and she loved to dance. She was preceded in death by one child, David, and seven siblings.
Aaisha leaves to mourn her children, Roger, Lanetta, James, and Emmanuel (Dianna); one sister, Lois E. Thornton; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
